The Cabinet Office has confirmed that the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme has been extended to include IR35 contractors who work for public sector clients. Contractors who are paid under PAYE or through an umbrella or their own personal services company can now be furloughed if they cannot continue to work due to the coronavirus outbreak. The Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme reimburses furloughed workers' wage costs up to a maximum of £2,500 per month.
